Peter DiCesare plays Andrew in the musical, a tortured soul grappling with the issues of sexuality and faith. Peter says what attracted him to the piece is that it’s “honest, touching, and simply about the struggles we all face in some form in our lives, and how we work to overcome them.”

Preparations continue for tomorrow night’s concert with the stage being readied for the performance, and full band rehearsals taking place earlier today. Executive Producer Nathan Gardner was filled with joy as he listened to the full band come together for the first time. “Daniel Klintworth has done an amazing job orchestrating and the band sound pretty fantastic for a first time playing together.”

Concert attendees also have the chance to enter a raffle with prizes including tickets to the national tour of Peter and the Starcatcher as well as T-Shirts from the upcoming film adaptation of Facing East directed by Will Swenson (PRISCILLA: QUEEN OF THE DESERT, HAIR).

FACING EAST: The Musical plays the Uptown Theatre in Grand Prairie, TX for one night only, August 27, 2013 at 8:00pm. The performance will also benefit Resource Center Dallas, a trusted leader that empowers the LGBT community and all people affected by HIV through improving health and wellness, strengthening families and communities, and providing transformative education and advocacy.
